After nearly two years of preparation, the big day has finally arrived: the transport of a truly unique system — a DEC PDP-11/55 — from the Netherlands to its new home.

The system is housed in three racks and includes a number of fascinating storage devices, among them an RK05, a TU56, a nine-track tape drive, and two RK05 emulators. Also included was a wonderful DEC PDP-11/84, complete with disk drives, a TU81plus tape drive, and many other items.

A large quantity of spare parts came with the system, along with a few treasures — most notably an RK07 disk exerciser with alignment cartridge, which I can use to bring my RK07 drives back to life.

I’m deeply grateful to have been offered a system like this. It’s not something you come across every day.
